Who are we?

We are a married couple. A couple of teachers to be exact, although neighter one is working at a school at the moment. Blue works as a museumteacher at the Drents Museum in Assen and Ronald (who sometimes volunteers at the museum) is unemployed at the moment, but probably is going to teach again. Photography is a shared hobby of ours. Ronald was the first to be infected, but Blue soon caught the bug as well. Some of the pictures that we have shot the last few years can be seen on the site.

We are also members of the Viking Reenactment group Byfrost.

My (Blue) oldest love is drawing and painting. I have had no professional training, I'm completly autodidact. Throughout the years I've developed my own style, especially in my pencil/crayon drawings. I find it difficult to explain, wich is why I placed some pictures on the site.

I (Ronald) change jobs and hobbies every now and then. At the moment I'm unemployed, but I hope to be a teacher soon again. So one day I'm busy with jobs around the house, the next I ride my recumbent for miles on end. But I also love doing papercraft, taking pictures and working on our site.

Since the 20^th of april 2010 there is a new Blue Swan.
We have called her Mara Maria van der Zwan and of course she has her own page on Den Blauwen Swaen with ofcourse a lot of pictures of our little girl.

And this is a picture of Noghri and Bantha. Our two cats. They're twins and uhm... kind of traumatized, but after a lot of tender, love and care we have turned them into semi normal cats. Bantha was the first to leave. He simply did not return after a walk one tuesdaymorning. Early 2009 Noghri suffert a stroke and a few days later she died. After a few catless weeks we went to find ourselfs a new cat. His name is Tripod and if you want to know more about him, click on the picture.
