Not realy an re-enactment event but still, we placed the report on the elf fantasy fair 2009 here...
Ronald en Blue attended the elf fantasy fair 2009 in Haarzuilens on saterday april 25th, that again was being held on the grounds of castle de Haar, a beautiful location. It is a seen and be seen kinda event with lots of fantasy costums to be admired. Blue had made het own costume, quit brave for someone who is not that good with needle and thread.
Entrance to the grounds of the Castle (we were not the only ones who wanted to get in.)
On the car park we run into the first fantasy costumes.
Our small group still on the car park.
slowly the long file of weirdly dressed people moves towards the castle.
Blue's costume was made by herself and because she realy is not that good with needle and thread, she was very proud od her work.
After some experimenting with different kinds of make-up this is what Blue desided on.
Near the entrance we came a cross this masked man who was part of a larger groep.
This man belonged to the same group. We loved those glasses.
He was posing for the camera's with this cyberangel.
A golden lady.
The ratladies
This lwoman had two rats with her.
And this lady had one with curly hair, so cute!
This lady looked to me like an Elisabeth I of England. Very beautifull.
But this couple was also very pretty.
Everywere along the paths through the grounds people were sitting down in the grass wearing the most beautiful creations.
In their special dresses the ladies love to be admired.
That is why this event has 'a very high SLR value' (quoting Alleke)
And we love to join in. Some picture have been shot on the crowded paths, like this one.
This couple were King and Queen of Eelfie this year. They called themselfs King and Queen Hulst (Holly).
This birdshead Blue liked alot, especially his feather headdress.
A very blue man.
And a very blue woman.
This lady is (like Blue) a fan of:
James Marsters, also on the EFF 2009
Saterday april 25th during the Q&A James Marsters talkes about a fun idea he had about a story on Spike and he also speaks on his role as Piccolo in the Dragonbal movie. The images are of poor quality but the Adio is pretty good.
Wandering warrior
And we ran into friends of ours aswell!
Every year there are caracters from famous movies walking around...
And what about this samurai?
Ther where some workshops, like thisone on trendy Japanees Para para dances. This one was called the 'chocolate'.
And all the elfs, wiches, demons, vampires and stormtroopers join the dancing. so very funny!
An orcestra was playing famous music from different movies like starwars. The last piece they played was from 'pirates of the Caribbean'. This Jack Sparrow stepped up to entertain the crowd and he was pretty good!
These healers tried to sell there potions and pills to the audiance but not with much succes. Good thing because they were total quacks. Exept thoose blue pills for men that could no longer perform there marital duties, maybe those do work...
A group of ladies with beautiful hats.
Every year this event has a market erea. This year we thought these ladies had one of the better stands.
There is also music to be heard on this event.
These two I that were veryy charming. Wanna hear?
The images are poor quality but here again isabout the audio, and that is pretty good...
As the year before there were these great birds of prey on the castlegrounds.
Other animals were on display aswell, that is if you can count a faun as an animal.
All the way in the back of the grounds things were more grim.
Here the black riders of Mordor could be found.
Ther leader seemd to be this amazone.
Tha mass of people seen from across the pond.
Asterix and Obelix were there aswell.
As were these charming ladies.
The woodlandcreatures were also represented this year.
Like this pretty forestelf that patiently posed for all the camera's.
This red woman was part of a larger group. It is always a bit impressive to see a group that realy fits together costumewise.
Some of these group consist of friend but ther are also intire families that dress op for this event. Cool!
Some of the best pictures are taken when the people (or elfs) on it don 't realize their picture is being taken, like this one.
How do you like this catgirl? She played her part so well. You try eating a small pancake by licking it...
We almost didn't see him but it is the inviseble man of course. The best costume idea's are often the most simple ones.
These two were funny. The lady has hidden her walker realy well but the fun lies in the guy following her.
First he steppes on her dress...
Then puts his staf on it. And kept doing this over and over...
A real 'guitar hero'.
Jack and company.
Birdmask.
Warrior.
This dress hurted our eyes, it was so bright! But a very original idea for sure. the dress was made from fluorescent safety vests and stuff!
But tou can also hire a animalsuit and hope that no one things you are a real 'furry'...
having a chat at the coffin
Ronald thought this the best anti-smoking advert he had even seen.
This year brought another collection of great devils.
This devil had a great set of wings! You do have to play the evil part though and he did.
This she-devil was our favourite of this years bunch.
The lady with the pretty eyes.
Damn that is ugly! well done.
But we thought the same thing about this guy.
On the stepps of the castle these girls were taking a little break.
There are worse places to just sit in the sun and watch people.
Pretty blue aint a bad thing.
Punk ain't dead, it just smells funny.
This girl was all black and white. And such a sweet face...
We thought this group was amazing. We never thought we would refer to a group of zombies as beautiful....
A lot of thought has gone into these cortumes.
And great details. They were great!
An event for all ages, proved by the kids playing along in between all the pleasant weirdness.
And all this recorded by your photographer Ronald and his assistent Blue.
