Family Van der Zwan

You may have noticed, Ronald and Blue are slight history freaks. This includes family history. Blue climbed into the familytree. For her own family this meant serious research but Ronalds familytree was pretty much known, thanks to members of his family. We thankfully used the fruits of there labour and we like to share. For privacy reasons we start this familytree with our greatgrandparents. On this page you can find the familytree of the van der Zwan family, starting with Ronalds greatgrandfather Cornelis van der Zwan.

During W.W.II the spouses are seperated. Cornelis survives the war in Indonesia and after the war he moves to Australia. He was told Scheveningen was heavely bombed and he asumed his wife and children had died. Oddly he never checked this... Arendje and the children had survived. Two adult sons living in Peru and Engeland knew their father was still alive but they did not return to the Netherlands untill the 60-ies. Untill then they had no contact with their mother or siblings.
When a nephew of Jacobus visits Australia he sees someone he recognizes from old photo's as his uncle Jacobus. It is his uncle who is not dead at all! The family was 'reunited' but the two spouces never lived as a couple again. Jacobus remarried and remained in Australia for the rest of his live.
