Historical Openair Museum Eindhoven

Every year during the Pentecostweekend ther is a Vikingshow in H.O.M.E. including a market, fightshows and demonstrations and every year Byfrost is there. Here a report on the Pentecostvikingshow 2008.

Our camp

This years was the first time that we have our camp under the trees. But because the weather was exceptionally warm that weekend it was a blessing.

Our neighbours

One of the fun things about these shows is that you always meet new people. This year we hade really nice neighbours that we had never met before.

Arrows

Our German neighbours had a really nice shop with bows and also these fine arrows.

Dying wool

During this weekend we were able to colour some wool in a madder dyebath. A report on this can be found on the madderpage

Nålbinding

Ronald was busy met nålbinden all weekend, also because he wanted some pictures for the site.

Across from us

Also our neighbour across from us were very busy with there camp and equipment. A number of them took part in the fightingshows so there equipment really needs to be okay.

Felting

One of the people camping across from us was Monika, who was felting. Felting is a fun technique that Monika is very good at. She was making a kins of hat and we took many pictures so we can do a report on the technique.

Sex on byfrost

Members of Feniks gave a coctailparty with a drink named after us! And our German namesakes (Bifroest) who were also present. We were very honoured.

Vikinggraph

There were so many vikings running around at this party with a very modern camera around ther necks, I hade to take a picture!

Market

And this year again a good medieval market .

Axe

And the best buy this year was Ronalds new necklace with this beautifull axe. It was time for Ronald to have a proper viking Het was tijd voor een echt viking ornament.

Music

At night we were all happy to listen to the band (They were good!)

Fire

And then there was the fireshow. The couple from Bellarus has preformed at this Pentecostweekend tree years in a row now and every year they are so much better then the year before!.
