We wanted a cat that was not to old, very affectionate and large. We soon found 2 cats that were clearly favourites. We had said that we would choose a cat based on it's caracter and the vibe we got from it. The winner was a red tiger. This tomkat just gave us a realy good feeling. So we have the honour of intoducing our new pet: Tripod.

A new home

After arriving at his new home Tripod found a quit corner underneath a cabinet and stayed there for a while.

Inquisitive

Even when he was hidding under the cabinet he was keeping an eye on everything. He seemed very inquisitive. We like that! He let us pet him and seemed to love this but we wanted to get him in to the room, out from under the cabinet.

Seduce

We tried to seduce him to leave his spot under the cabinet by using a stick for him to play with. Tripod was more than willing to play with the stick but would not leave his hidingplace.

Food!

So we laid a trail of food. After all: it is a male cat and they say that a mans love goes through his stomach.

A real man

Apparently this is also true for cats because it immediately did the trick. Tripod could not resist the smell of the food and slowly moved in to the room.

Exploring

Soon he went of exploring his new surroundings. He is very inquisitive indeed. He started trying out what he could climb on or into. The picture showes he moves around just fine, despite the reason for his name.

Tripod

As you may have guessed Tripod has only 3 legs. He was probably hit by a car but not taken to a vet in time. When they brought him in, his leg had already started to heal on it's own and the bones had grown back together again. His leg stuck out at an angle of 90 degrees and had to be amputated.

Comfortable

He seems to be doing fine with only 3 legs but since he was operated only 4 weeks before we took him home, Tripod has still some adusting to do. We are very curious to see how he will climb all those pieces of furniture in the room.

Supersweet

But we have gained a great new pet. Even on his first day he showed that he is a cool cat, inquisitive, playful and very affectionate. He is supersweet and we have already fallen completly in love with him. Tripod rules!
